It offers large-scale automated screening for retinal diseases using artificial intelligence. The company’s AI analyzes retinal photos from a standard field color retinograph to detect the main pathological risks to the retina, specifically focusing on Diabetic Retinopathy, Glaucoma, and Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD). The system provides results in seconds, including photo quality assessment, severity rating, location of detected lesions, and a confidence score, all compiled into a detailed PDF report.
OphtAI’s technology aims to address the challenges faced by modern ophthalmology, such as the increasing number of patients with chronic conditions and the scarcity of specialists. By enabling non-specialists to identify patients requiring priority care, OphtAI helps reduce the workload of ophthalmologists, allowing them to focus on therapeutic management. The solution is available via a web browser (OphtAI WEB), a desktop application (OphtAI APP), or through an API for integration into partner software. It is a CE-marked Class IIA medical device and has been developed through collaborative projects with AP-HP hospitals and the Latim research laboratory, utilizing a database of 800,000 retinal images.
