About Atlantico

Atlantico is a Sao Paulo-based venture firm that backs founders from the earliest stages with a Latin America-wide footprint and an emphasis on tech-driven regional expansion. The firm is one of the more visible new-generation LatAm seed and Series A funds, with check sizes of roughly $1M to $5M and a documented willingness to participate alongside US-based co-leads. Healthcare exposure is real and includes Pipo Saude, the Brazilian healthcare benefits platform that Atlantico backed in its 2021 Series A round.

The healthcare thesis read is broad: digital health, health IT, and wellness and consumer health, with an AI-tilted pattern in recent vintages. The firm’s natural fit is with founders building software-led category leaders that can either dominate Brazil first and expand regionally, or use Brazil as a beachhead for cross-border expansion into the US Hispanic and broader Latin American markets. Founders building employer-sold health benefits, payer-adjacent software, AI-enabled clinical workflow, and consumer health platforms with credible LTV economics are well-aligned. Pure deep biotech and complex therapeutics are not the natural pattern.

Geographically, Atlantico’s edge is its regional founder network, its US co-investor relationships, and its ability to help founders structure cross-border holding companies in a way that supports Series B and beyond. The team is fluent in the operational realities of Brazilian growth (labor law, FX, payments infrastructure, payer dynamics) in a way that pure US funds are not.

The right intro path is a warm referral from a portfolio founder or from a US co-investor like Thrive, FJ Labs, or a regional GP who has shared a deal previously. The firm reads decks promptly when there is a strong network signal; cold inbound is harder. The pitch should lead with the regional expansion thesis: why your wedge wins the Brazilian or LatAm market, what the unit economics look like at scale, and how the company moves toward Series A or B with US co-investors. AI narrative is welcome but should be substantiated with model and data leverage rather than asserted.

Caveats. Like most strong regional seed funds, Atlantico has a high bar for founder pedigree and prior traction; first-time founders without team or commercial signal are a stretch. Confirm whether your round is led by Atlantico or co-led with a US firm, since governance dynamics differ; ask the partner directly. The $1M to $5M check range is wide; clarify their expected ownership and follow-on philosophy early. For a Brazilian or LatAm founder building a clear regional category leader, Atlantico is among the strongest seed-to-Series-A partners on the continent; for founders without a regional thesis, US specialist funds are likely a better fit.
