For healthcare AI founders, this is almost always the wrong door. The narrow and meaningful exception is for companies building dual-use healthcare AI with clear defense applications, including warfighter health monitoring, military medical AI for combat casualty care, biosurveillance and biothreat detection, deployable diagnostics for forward operating environments, or veterans health AI with a credible Department of Defense or Veterans Affairs procurement pathway. Founders without a defense angle should skip Defense Angels entirely; a generic healthcare pitch will not convert and dilutes the network’s pattern matching.
