It supports various treatment techniques including 3D-CRT, electron therapy, IMRT, VMAT, Helical Tomotherapy, proton therapy, carbon-ion therapy, and adaptive radiation therapy. RayStation combines features like adaptive therapy capabilities, multi-criteria optimization, and advanced algorithms for optimizing treatment plans for HDR brachytherapy and external beam therapy with photons, electrons, protons, helium, and carbon ions. It also supports reirradiation planning across modalities. The latest versions include fast automated treatment planning using machine learning and the ECHO algorithm, as well as extended support for planning treatments for patients in an upright position. RayStation is designed to provide one control center for all treatment planning needs, enhancing the value of existing equipment.
Oncology Information Systems (OIS)
RayCare® is RaySearch's oncology information system, designed to support comprehensive cancer care and manage the entire patient treatment and care pathway. It aims to connect seamlessly to all treatment delivery devices and integrates scheduling, clinical workflows, treatment management, and data handling into a single system. RayCare is built to be workflow-oriented, highly configurable, and supports digital workflows, minimizing manual tasks and the risk of error. It also includes an integrated oncology PACS system, RayCare PACS, for image workflow management and automation. RayCare is designed to integrate with hospital information systems (HIS), EMR, hospital PACS, RIS, patient portals, pharmacy systems, lab systems, and billing systems.
Deep Learning Organ Segmentation
RayStation includes deep-learning segmentation capabilities that make image segmentation quicker and more consistent. It uses a high-speed GPU-powered algorithm to produce consistent segmentation results using guideline-based models trained and evaluated on curated data for different body sites. Deep-learning segmentation is designed to identify common organs and structures rapidly, usually under a minute, and comes with pre-trained models from leading cancer clinics. Clinics also have the option to tailor models to their own needs by training on their own data. The trained models do not contain personal data, facilitating sharing between clinics.
Machine Learning Treatment Planning
RaySearch has developed machine learning tools to automate organ segmentation and treatment plan generation, improving efficiency and consistency. RayStation was the first treatment planning system to incorporate machine learning applications, enabling clinics to generate personalized treatment plans in minutes. The machine learning approach utilizes models that learn the relationship between patient geometry, dose shape, and tradeoffs from historical treatment plans. RayStation v2025 includes fast automated treatment planning using machine learning and the ECHO algorithm, which optimizes treatment plans based on predefined protocols.
Adaptive Radiotherapy
RayStation is specifically designed to make adaptive therapy faster and easier in clinical practice. Adaptive radiation therapy involves using frequent imaging to compensate for anatomical differences that occur during the course of treatment, with replanning considered when significant changes are observed. RayStation includes modules for dose tracking, deformable image registration, and adaptive replanning. RayCare, as the first OIS built in the era of adaptive therapy, supports adaptive workflow requirements and enables automation and management of the complex information flow in adaptive therapy. RaySearch is also collaborating on online adaptive workflow solutions where daily cone beam images are used to suggest updated treatment plans.
Particle & Proton Therapy
RaySearch is a market leader in proton therapy software, with many particle centers worldwide using RayStation for proton planning. RayStation supports planning for protons, helium, and carbon ions, and includes features like robust optimization and evaluation, machine learning autoplanning with robustness, 4D-optimization, and PBS optimization with apertures. RaySearch has expanded its partnership with IBA in proton therapy to develop innovative technologies like flash radiotherapy, proton ARC therapy, and treatment of moving tumors.
Oncology Analytics
RayIntelligence® is RaySearch's oncology analytics system (OAS) that enables cancer clinics to collect, structure, and analyze data. It connects directly to primary oncology data sources to help institutions learn from their own data and adapt their practices. RayIntelligence provides tools for customized dashboards, plan benchmarking, AI performance monitoring (including deep learning segmentation), device utilization, and team expertise mapping. It aims to transform fragmented data into actionable insights for continuous improvement in oncology programs.
Liver Ablation Guidance
RayStation v2025 includes a new application, RayStation Ablation, which provides tools for liver ablation guidance. This application uses imaging before and after treatment, combined with advanced algorithms, to accurately target and treat liver tumors or lesions with thermal ablation needles. It guides the physician in delivering minimally invasive ablation therapy, aiming to ensure precise targeting and minimize damage to healthy liver tissue.
