ModMed is developing a suite of AI assistants designed to streamline various administrative and clinical workflows within a medical practice. These assistants aim to reduce the burden of documentation, administrative tasks, and complex processes, allowing physicians and their staff to focus more on patient care.

The ModMed AI assistants are built to understand complex requests and automate multi-step tasks across different areas of practice management. This includes functions like patient scheduling and communication, eligibility processing, prior authorization, and claim denial appeals. The goal is to create an “AI-powered practice” where intelligent tools handle repetitive and time-consuming operations.

One notable assistant, ModMed Scribe, is specifically designed to translate natural conversation during patient visits into actionable documentation, directly integrating with ModMed’s EMA EHR system. Other AI assistants focus on understanding payer policies, processing high volumes of work, and providing summarized, actionable results for physician approval. The system emphasizes physician control, with every AI action grounded, cited, and requiring final approval from the user.

ModMed highlights its commitment to “responsible AI,” ensuring that while the assistants automate tasks, the physician remains in control and has the final say on recommendations and actions. The platform aims to eliminate frustration associated with administrative burdens by providing always-working, always-ready AI support.
